DevOps Engineer @ Fintonic

Fintonic is a personal finance management platform operating across Spain and Latin America. As part of the DevOps/SRE team, I contributed to modernizing the infrastructure — evolving from a Chef-managed IaaS model on AWS toward a more reliable, maintainable, highly available, and scalable platform based on Kubernetes, while keeping production running throughout the transition.

My Role & Responsibilities
  • Contributed to migrating the platform from an IaaS model (AWS + Chef) to a Kubernetes-based PaaS architecture — including maintaining and improving the existing infrastructure during the transition
  • Helped implement a CI/CD system using GitLab, GitLab CI, and Docker, improving deployment automation across engineering teams
  • Managed infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, and Packer — versioned in Git
  • Set up monitoring, observability, and alerting across the platform using Datadog, Sentry, and the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
  • Administered and maintained production databases: MongoDB, MySQL, and RDS on AWS
  • Administered and maintained RabbitMQ message brokers for event-driven microservice communication

Key Outcomes

Participated in a full platform evolution from IaaS to Kubernetes over three years, contributing to improved deployment frequency, environment consistency, and operational visibility across the stack.
